Andrea B.
Nice work, Zach. I've been trying to find one of these guys to photograph myself. :( One small correction: In genus Helianthus the disc flowers are bisexual. So these are not male flowers. The Flora of North America is a good reference for this kind of thing: http://www.efloras.o...taxon_id=114871 I took the liberty as spelling editor to replace MT with 'Montana, USA'. This is because we are an international forum and I don't think everyone knows the US abbreviations. Link to comment
msubees
Sorry, bad copying from the last post which had male and female flowers. these small ray flowers should be complete. not sure if my white balance was messed up for UV because there is no UV yellow for the anterior tip of "petals". Andrea B.
Yes, the white balance is a bit off. There is too much red & cyan. Eventually you can correct it in the converter/editor. Link to comment
msubees
This is from in camera white balance with a virgin teflon. I could not bring any yellow out, if the petals are yellow, then all the background are also yellow. Maybe this is what it is for the flower in terms of UV...pretty much like a monochrome.Yes, the white balance is a bit off. There is too much red & cyan.
